There is no single way to build a company or make your mark as an entrepreneur. But women in entrepreneurship continue to face different opportunities, expectations and barriers along the way.

At this StartUp Talk, held shortly after Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, we bring together Ana Andonovska, co-founder of Even Founders, and Lora Jakobsen, Chief Sustainability Officer and founding member of ZeroNorth, for two different perspectives on women in entrepreneurship.

Ana brings experience from working to close the gender gap in entrepreneurship and investment, while Lora has been part of scaling ZeroNorth from six people into a global technology company with 600 employees.

Through personal stories and an open conversation, we will explore what it takes to build, lead and grow a company, the challenges women can encounter along the way, and the role that networks, opportunities and role models can play in creating a more diverse entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Ana Andonovska
Ana Andonovska is co-founder of Even Founders, an organisation working to close the gender gap in entrepreneurship and investment. With experience as both an investor and operator, Ana brings perspectives from different sides of the startup ecosystem and was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2021.

At the StartUp Talk, Ana will share her perspectives on women in entrepreneurship, access to opportunities and what it takes to create a more inclusive startup ecosystem.

Lora Jakobsen
Lora Jakobsen is Chief Sustainability Officer and a founding member of ZeroNorth, a global maritime technology company working to accelerate the green transition in global trade. Since ZeroNorth was founded in 2020, Lora has been part of the company’s journey from a team of six to 600 people, helping build and scale the company while driving its sustainability agenda.

At the StartUp Talk, Lora will share perspectives from ZeroNorth’s growth journey and her own experiences with leadership, sustainability and building a global technology company as a woman.
